Virtual Stanford Asian Pacific Alumni Summit - Voices Building

A Virtual Summit, on Sep. 26, 2020

The 2020 SAPAS Summit intends to build on our groundbreaking event in 2017, the Stanford Asian Pacific Alumni Summit with the theme “Voices Rising” March 31-April 2, 2017. However, due to the uncertainties about travel, funding, venue, and catering caused by Covid-19, we decided it would be best to convert the original 3-day in-person event into a virtual 3-hour condensed summit on Sep. 26, 12:-00 - 3:15 PM Eastern, or 9 AM - 12:15 PM Pacific time.

Several benefits of a Virtual Summit are:

  1. Raising the capacity of participants to 1000 people

  2. No travel time or funds required to participate virtually

  3. No registration fee (but you can surely donate to SAPAAC when you are registering)

  4. As always, free membership to SAPAAC to receive a monthly newsletter, announcements about the Summit, Stanford social events around the globe.

Purpose

The 2020 Summit will enable alumni to learn from and connect with others, to find opportunities for collaboration, and to have fun!  We're committed to making a real impact among our fellow alumni, the University, and our community by providing a truly unique space for networking beyond our existing circles, sharing experiences and insights in a low key environment.

We also hope to use the opportunity of being together to: 1) challenge stereotypes; 2) examine how we individually and collectively view issues and solutions from the lens of our ethnicity; and 3) seek consensus for proactive paradigm change about what it means to be Asian, Pacific Islander, or Asian American in tomorrow’s world.
