Steering Committee

Leads Summit organizing. The Steering Committee develops the Summit proposal and theme. It manages the venue, budget, and keynote speakers. Steering Committee members lead individual sub-committees.

Steering co-chairs are Kevin Hsu and Hope Nakamura. Steering members are Solina Kwan, Anita Law, Katie Gee Salisbury, Risa Shimoda.

Tech, Photography & Storytelling

Create a digital presence and record the event for posterity. Organize the technology needs for the in-person Summit. Build collections of photos, videos, and other multimedia for future Stanford story-telling.

In-Person Volunteers

Serve as an on-site volunteer in New York. You will help ensure the event runs smoothly and that all attendees feel welcome. Recruits and places volunteers with other sub-committees.

Sponsors & Partnerships

Identify sponsorship opportunities and build ties to potential sponsors. Partner with individuals, companies, or organizations to raise resources and financial support to make the Summit of high quality, yet accessible to all alumni.

Drive attendance and participation at the Summit, and generate broader awareness of the Summit and SAPAAC. Reach out widely so as many Stanford alumni as possible know about the Summit and are excited to join us in person. Develop e-mail, social media, and word-of-mouth campaigns.

NYC Programming & Socials

Design an engaging, family-friendly program in New York City reflecting the summit theme and unique location. Appeal to diverse Alumni audiences and create opportunities for alumni to build ties, network, and celebrate.

Implement an engaging program for the Summit conference day, including session topics that are meaningful, thought provoking, and timely. Connect Summit programming to our theme of “Rising Together: Writing the Future of Asian Pacific America.”
